Walter "Billy" Dawson, Jr. passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Cape Coral, Florida at the age of 55. He was born on September 4, 1961 in Lake Charles, Louisiana at the Chennault AFB where his father was stationed. He then went with his parents to Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC. His father was assigned to a post in Tehran, Iran for several years attached to a detail with the Shah. He fondly recalled this time as a beautiful experience. So many experiences, visits to the ski resort at Mount Abali during the winter, trips to bazaar in Isfahan and Turkey and dinners at the Palace. The family then moved back to the States, stationed at McCoy AFB, Orlando, FL. Eventually the family moved to Winter Park, FL where Billy continued his education and the family opened their own sawmill, Lifetime Sales, Inc. He was so proud to produce many cypress props, benches, picnic tables and large tree boxes for Disney. Eventually they closed the mill and Billy started his career in retail. He worked for Bed, Bath and Beyond, Off Fifth, Saks Fifth Avenue, and finally, the Paradies Shops at RSW in Fort Myers, FL. Along the way he was respectfully known as a fair, honest, and hardworking manager. He was always trying to bring out the positivity in his team mates.
Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Alma White, and his father, Walter Edmund Dawson, Sr. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Judith Dawson, his Step-Son, Derek Hartsfield, his sister, Donna Morey (Gene) and nephew, William Morey (Alicia), and so many relatives and dear friends.
