Tribute

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Eburne MacLeod announces his passing after a long hard-fought battle with cancer on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the age of 77.  Dick will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years Marilyn and his children Richard E. MacLeod II (Lisa), Douglas S. MacLeod (Kristen), Stepdaughters Lisa and Coleen Rooney.  Dick will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Brandi, Rick, Samantha, Douglas, Eddie, Tatiana, Monique, Bobby, Michael, Gilbert, Jessica, Anthony, Garrett, Jude, Jacob and Harley, 14 great grandchildren, by his brother Douglas (Kathy) and their children Sara & Will and his 3 nieces.  He is sorely missed by his beloved pet, Sandi.
Dick was predeceased by his daughter Shelley, brother John and sister Carol. Dick was born in Everett, Massachusetts to the late Douglas and Dorothea MacLeod. He was raised in Chelsea and Westboro, Massachusetts and spent many summers in Cape Cod at his grandfathers summer home, whom he adored.  He attended  Lawrence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts for his high school education and enlisted in the army in 1962 where he became a Service Engineer Airplane Mechanic and earned a good conduct medal for expert rifle. Dick spent his life working with his hands and knowledge and excelled at what he did.  He shared what he knew with family and friends, for that he will be remembered. Dick retired from Ecolab in 2004 as a Service Engineer Manager and in 2010 bought a home in Cape Coral, Florida moving from Latham, New York. He loved boating and spent many years on the water, first in Cape Cod, then the Mohawk and Hudson River in New York and lastly, for a short time, Pine Island Sound, Florida. A remembrance will be held at a later date in New York.
