January 6, 1949 – July 15, 2018

Ralph Carl Iacono, age 69 of Cape Coral passed away at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral on July 15, 2018. His cause of death was respiratory failure due to a long bout with pneumonia.

Ralph was born in Manhattan, New York on January 6, 1949 to Charles and Santa Iacono. Ralph has a twin sister Camille and was predeceased by his younger brother Carlo Iacono. Ralph was employed by the NYC Transit Authority as a superintendent before retiring in 1995. Ralph lived in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island before finally settling in Cape Coral in 1997. Despite his disability, Ralph enjoyed playing tennis, going on cruises, attending concerts, was active in his church and was a diehard, lifelong Yankee fan. Mr. Iacono was also a US Navy veteran and attended St. Andrews Catholic Church in Cape Coral. Ralph is survived by his twin sister Camille Marino and brother in law Dominick, his son Shawn and daughter Nancy. He was a proud grandfather of eight and great grandfather of one.

He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, his longtime caretaker and dear friend Karoline Saltzman and his best bud BeBe.

Services will be held at Fuller Metz Crematory and Funeral Services in Cape Coral with visitation on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Graveside service will be conducted at the Coral Ridge Cemetery in Cape Coral on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.
The family has asked that any donations be made in Ralph’s honor to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundations for Spinal Cord Injury research.
