Mary Elaine Valentine

Mary Elaine Valentine was born in Holt, Michigan on November 17, 1934, to Myron and Thelma Hancock. She was the third child and only daughter born after 2 older brothers, Robert and Bruce. Her father owned the town’s drugstore and was a pharmacist, her mother was a school teacher. After completing High School she attended nursing school graduating in 1955 in Lansing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. In 1957 she married Don Valentine and welcomed their first child, a daughter, Diana in 1958, followed by twins Terri and Larry in 1959. In 1968 they relocated to Florida, moving to Cape Coral in 1976. She had such a giving and loving heart, that is why she became a nurse and worked for over 50 years helping and caring for others. She loved the Lord, centering her life on him, her family and friends. She enjoyed the simple things in life, laughing and helping those around her. She was and still is a constant example of Faith, Love and Selflessness to our entire family. She leaves behind her children, Diana (David) Jones, Terri (Jeff) Taylor, Larry (Lori) Valentine, her grandchildren Mica (Dan) Butler, Jessica (Clint) Montgomery, Nick (Marissa) McCullers, Jamie (Jay) Murphy, Julie (Lacey) Griffis, Lindsay Jones and Chase Jones. Her great grandchildren Rylyn, Jacey, Saylor, Luke, Ben, Rhett, Seth and Eli. We are grateful and blessed that she was ours.
A service in Mary's memory will take place Friday, May 25th at 11:00AM at Grace Methodist Church at 13 SE 21st Place (corner of 21st place and Hancock Bridge Pkwy)  followed by a celebration of life in fellowship hall.
