Joseph H. Povisil passed away peacefully at home, with his wife by his side, on January 26th, 2023. Joseph was 87 years old and lived a life filled with love, family, and fun.
Joe was born in Manhattan, New York and proudly served in the United States Army. He married his beloved wife, Anna, 67 years ago. Together they built a wonderful life. Joe loved hunting and spending Summers on Fire Island fishing and digging for clams.
In the 70’s Joe and Anna relocated their family to Cape Coral, Florida. It was there that he owned J & A Trucking and worked for the Lee County Sheriff’s Department.
Joe was a member of the Cape Coral Optimist, the American Legion, the Volunteer Firemen's Association, and a life member of the Cape Coral Moose Fraternity.
He is survived by his wife Anna Povisil. His children; Lilly Hart, Joanne Pike, and Joseph N. Povisil. His grandchildren; Crystal, Kerra, Kaylyn, and Joshua. His great grandchildren Hunter, Connor, Donta, Carlos, Aubrey, Avery, and Marlee.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Salvation Army in his name. Joanne’s home will be open and they will be receiving guests from January 28th until February 1st.
