Tribute

John William Zwick
January 9, 1937 – November 24, 2020

John William Zwick, 83, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away at Hope Hospice Cape Coral after a very brief illness. John was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on January 9, 1937 to the late John W. Zwick and the late Marie (Becker) Zwick.

Survivors include his wife Anita White Zwick, son John, daughters Vicky Serany, Cindy Seder, and Pamela Zwick; step-sons Stacey Abernathy and Scott Patton, and step-daughter Kim Patterson; brothers; sons-in-law; grandchildren Jacqueline and Brian Serany, Carley Brese, Cayla and Cole Seder, Bethany Saba, Alex and Matthew Abernathy, Von and Gavin Patton, Evan Patterson, and many nieces and nephews.

John served in the U.S. Air Force in Europe and followed with an executive career at Eaton Corporation. Later he founded and grew a number of successful businesses in industrial and automotive products.

After traveling internationally in his early adult years and living in many parts of the country throughout his life, there was no Floridian happier than he to ultimately call Florida his home. He was exposed to many cultures and ways of life in the world and was always quick to tell anyone how blessed he was to live in the United States, how grateful he was for the opportunities he had been given, and how proud he was to be an American.

His passions were people, business, and family. Outside of his own professional interests, he enjoyed helping aspiring entrepreneurs and mentoring young people with his characteristic direct and unencumbered points of view. To him, the pragmatic approach was always the best approach and he was never unclear with his opinion. Yet all casual conversations revealed his sharp wit and were marked with plenty of good-natured sarcasm. His perspective, friendship and love will be missed by those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a consideration to donate in John’s memory to one of the following organizations:

Edgewood Children’s Ranch
1451 Edgewood Ranch Road
Orlando, FL 32835

Hope Hospice
2430 Diplomat Parkway East
Cape Coral, FL 33909

A celebration of life followed by committal to the Gulf of Mexico will be held on a future date at the convenience of the family.
