John "Jack" Alexander Chapple

February 3, 1953 ~ June 20, 2022 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Tribute

Jack was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 3, 1953, grew up in Garfield Heights, and has lived in Medina and Mason. A frequent visitor of Sanibel, he realized his dream of living close to the island in 2017 when he moved with his wife and dogs to Cape Coral, Florida. His larger-than-life personality and infectious laugh will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, including wife Carolyn, daughters Nicole, Stacey, and Melissa, brothers Tom Chapple and Ray Harland, chosen brother Lewis Young, and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and friends from around the world. His soul has joined his beloved parents, George Chapple and Jean Shepherd Chapple, and his younger sister, Debra Harland.

Jack’s favorite pastimes included chatting and laughing with his friends and family, swimming in the Gulf, listening to music, enjoying Florida’s wildlife, and keeping up with Ohio football teams, including the team from his alma mater, the University of Mount Union.

In lieu of flowers, Jack’s family requests that donations be made in his name to Project Ed Bear, an organization that provided comfort and support to Jack’s grandniece, or Captains for Clean Water, an organization fighting to preserve the health and beauty of Florida’s Gulf Coast.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held in Cleveland on a to-be-determined date.
