Florence Shannon

Florence Irene Shannon was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 5, 1954.

Flo was someone who truly loved God, her family and everyone she met. She loved to have conversations with anyone and always had a story to tell. He infectious smile brought joy to others.

Flo was a cashier at Publix where she retired to care for her late husband James Shannon. She had also received her cosmetology license in Ohio where she was a hairdresser. She loved to dance, enjoyed bowling , playing cards and triominos. She also loved Nascar Racing and her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Jr.

FLo was a member of the Faith fellowship World Outreach Ministries now known as The Faith center. She has served on the nursing home team, ushering, food pantry and any area that needed her help. Her heart was filled when she would sing worship songs. She would also help with many events in the community to bring a smile to peoples faces.

Flo was a loving mom to Jennifer Velez and Melissa Shannon. Loving Wife to the late James Shannon. Daughter of Dorothy Merwin and Charles Ledger Sr. Sister of Charles Ledger and she was the Grandmother of Alexus Velez, Melina Velez, James Shannon, Demitria Henderson and Great Grandmother of Nevaeh.

She would always make her grandchildren laugh when she would get frustrated saying "Oh Jeez:, "I don't know" and scream, but she loved with all her soul. She will truly be missed by many people.
