Tribute

Clementine N. Ferguson, known to family and friends as Teen, passed away on November 23, 2022 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida.  Teen was born in Adams, MA but moved to Pittsfield, MA at the age of ten when her father became Coach at Pittsfield High School.  She was the daughter of Arthur S. and Beatrice Fox.  She and her husband John were high school sweethearts and married in November of 1955 after they both graduated from institutions of higher education; Teen graduated from Henry W. Bishop Memorial School of Nursing at Pittsfield General Hospital in Pittsfield, MA and John from Providence College in Providence, RI.

Teen was a registered nurse and began her career as a surgical nurse, working in hospitals in Springfield, MA and Indianapolis, IN.  Her husband was drafted into the Army after 7 months of marriage and they were stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana where their son John was born.  Daughters, Judi and Jan were born three and five years later, respectfully.

Teen’s husband predeceased her in February 2018.  She is survived by her son, John and his wife Paula, her daughters, Judi Judge and her husband Mike and Jan Ferguson and her friend Jeff Kelley as well as five grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Teen is also survived by her twin sister, Barbara and her husband Dick Bishop of NH and her brother, Art and his wife Helene Fox of Florida as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Teen and her husband moved to Pembroke, MA in 1965.  Nursing was her passion and after a brief break to raise her children, Teen returned to nursing as a charge nurse in a local nursing home, later to become the school nurse at Silver Lake Regional Junior High in Pembroke, MA where she retired after 27 years.   Her greatest nursing achievement for which her children are very grateful is the care she provided to their father when a car accident left him a paraplegic in 1985.  After they both retired in 1999, they moved to Cape Coral, Florida but spent summers in their condo in Yarmouth, MA; visiting Cape Cod while they lived in Pembroke, MA was a favorite past time that they shared together.

A private interment for both Teen and John will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
