Arlene Louise Wagner

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene Louise Wagner after a long illness in Lakeland on 3/1/2021.  Her first birthday was 2/2/42 in New Brunswick, NJ.  As she was fond of saying after they resuscitated her in Walmart her “second birthday” was 2/22/20.  She was predeceased by her mother and father, Naomi and Jack Lenhart Jr, her infant son, Robert John Jensen, and her brother, John Lenhart III. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Milly Lenhart, her nieces and nephew, Liz and Stephan Mongiello, Sarah Lenhart and her stepson, Bill Wagner.

Arlene retired from NJ Bell/AT&T in 1998 and retired a second time from Dr. Gutstein’s office in 2017 in FL.  She moved to Cape Coral after Hurricane Floyd flooded her apartment in NJ.  She enjoyed her time in Florida making friends, joining Cape Coral First Methodist Church, being close to family, and caring for her beloved cats.  Throughout her life Arlene enjoyed and was quite good at ceramics, roller skating, bowling and needlework. She loved roller coasters and cruises, but hated technology. She decorated enthusiastically for every holiday.

A memorial service will be held at Fuller Metz Funeral Home on Saturday 4/3/21 at 3740 Del Prado Blvd S. in Cape Coral.  Visitation and a slide show will be at 4pm and the service will start at 4:30pm.  Masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced.  In lieu of flowers the family is asking for contributions to the American Heart Association.  Please contact Milly or the church if you plan to visit Arlene’s home for refreshments afterwards.  There will be a graveside service in Union Cemetery in Mays Landing, NJ at a date to be announced.
